The Chambers Staff Charitable Fund (CSCF), formerly known as the Barristers’ Clerks’ Benevolent Fund, is an inclusive charity focussed entirely on offering financial support to those in our sector in dire need. Formed in [YEAR], the CSCF is managed by a committee of trustees. We are responsible for ensuring the charity reviews applications fairly and promptly and that we support those who are in genuine need of assistance.
We also ensure absolute transparency and full compliance with the requirements of our regulator, The Charity Commission, and the relevant legislation, including The Charities Act 2011. Our registration details can be viewed here.
The Trustees decided in 2020 that the name of the charity should be changed to better reflect the wide range of chambers personnel who are eligible to apply for assistance from the Fund. It was important to make it clear that anyone working in a staff role in whatever capacity in chambers could apply to us for assistance.
We work closely with the Bar Council, The Institute of Barristers’ Clerks (IBC) and The Legal Practice Management Association (LPMA).
