The Chambers Staff Charitable Fund (CSCF), formerly known as the Barristers Clerks Benevolent Fund, is an inclusive charity focussed entirely on being able to offer financial support to those in our sector in dire need. Formed in YEAR, the CSCF is managed by a Committee of Trustees. We are responsible for ensuring the Charity reviews applications fairly and promptly and that we support those who are in genuine need of our assistance with financial grants.
The Trustees took the view in 2020 that the name of the charity needed to be more reflective of those who can apply for assistance from the Fund, hence the name change. It was important to us that our sector knew that anyone working in our sector could apply to us for assistance, whether they are a barristers’ clerk, an administrative support worker or a chambers’ professional.
As a result of our origins, e are closely aligned with the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks (IBC), but do not have any formal links with them. They kindly ensure our message reaches as many of you as possible, and we hope to expand on that message through the Legal Practice Management Association (LPMA) and Bar Council in the near future.
